Methow Spires is hiring!
We’re now hiring for several part-time positions, including front desk staff, youth program staff, and a climbing coach. We’re looking for people who are responsible, enthusiastic, good with people, and excited to help build a positive climbing community here in the Methow Valley.
Front Desk: Front Desk Staff at Methow Spires are the welcoming face of the gym, checking in climbers, answering questions, providing orientations, and helping new visitors feel comfortable, connected and stoked to climb. Responsibilities include customer check-ins, pass sales, retail sales, and, where qualified, administering required certifications for Auto Belay, Belay Check, and Lead Check. Staff engage with climbers throughout their shifts, helping foster an enthusiastic, inclusive, and community-driven atmosphere that makes Methow Spires a great place to climb and connect. The role also includes routine upkeep and maintenance, such as vacuuming, cleaning, organizing, and helping keep the gym safe and welcoming.
Youth Programs: Youth Programs Staff at Methow Spires help create fun, supportive, and engaging climbing experiences for kids of a variety of ages and abilities. Staff lead and assist with after-school programs, camps, birthday parties, and potentially assist with climbing teams. Responsibilities include teaching climbing skills and safety, facilitating games and activities, encouraging individual growth and teamwork, and helping young climbers build confidence both on and off the wall. Staff bring energy, patience, and enthusiasm to each program while helping foster a positive climbing community where kids feel challenged, supported, and excited to keep climbing.
Climbing Coach: The Climbing Coach at Methow Spires leads the development and growth of our youth climbing teams, creating a positive, challenging, and supportive environment for young athletes of varying ages and abilities. This role plans and leads practices, teaches climbing technique and movement, develops strength and training programs, sets individual and team goals, and prepares athletes for climbing competitions while emphasizing safety, sportsmanship, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of climbing. The Coach helps build and oversee both recreational and competitive team programming, mentors assistant coaches, communicates with parents and families, and supports athletes at competitions and team events. Above all, the coach serves as a positive role model who helps young climbers develop resilience, teamwork, independence, and a strong connection to the Methow Spires climbing community.

About how many hours per week you’re looking to work
We’ll be reviewing resumes and holding interviews from when we receive the application through mid-October, with plans to have our new team in place in early November. Staff would need to participate in training prior to gym opening.
